The first day of the rest of my life? 09.13.09

Wow... After making such a GRAND decision, I realized what a big commitment this could be. But.. as Grandma "A" always said to me... "Lori.... You're a lot like your Granddad... You could fall in the outhouse, yet come out smelling like a rose..."

I always hoped that was a complement.... not that I really hang out a whole lot around the outhouse!! In thinking of this, it just makes me smile, 'cuz Grandma "A" is still with us @ 95 years young.

I never dreamed that my Grandma would still be here at this point in my life. Much less, that my son's "great" Grandma and Roland’s "great-great" Grandma would still be here too, and they could really "know" her, not just see pics! I guess that is why life is so amazing in this small little town. Even a friend of mine (Tom Friddle) commented to his mom (Peg Friddle) ... (a couple of months ago, when we celebrated Grandma A's 95th) He couldn't believe what a "beautiful woman" she still is after all these years. I was soooo proud, not only that he's my friend, but that he saw a 95 year old woman as "beautiful". (there's hope for me yet!)

As for my adventures today.... they say truth is stranger than fiction. I'm living proof... Who else, could manage to "whack" the funny bone on her knee, while making dinner??? (wow... and did it hurt!) I'm definitely gonna feel it more tomorrow, and I'm sure it will be a gorgeous color! But, I also got to spend the day with Mike.... We watched (or at least had on the tube) NFL football all day long... The last game we watched today was Green Bay vs./Chicago...

Mikee's Packers pulled out the win! My "Dallas" fared pretty good too, they beat Tampa Bay. Then we caught the Redskins game, but my "Jim Zorn" lost the game (another story within itself, long ago and far away..)

Right now, the dryer is humming along, the back door is open so I can hear the crickets chirping and smell the dryer sheets (occasionally catching a whiff of eau d' skunk). The daylight is gone, and you can really feel the seasons as they are transitioning from Summer to Fall. The weather chick says that today's 90 degrees, will be the last for a while. Tomorrow may only be near 80. I am SO NOT READY for fall. I still have tomatoes on the vine, and 1 pumpkin!

As I sit here writing this, I am in amazement of how lucky I really am! I pray that God continues to bless me, and also envelope each of you, (my wonderful friends and family) with His love. ... so until tomorrow..... Luvs
