.... and the world hasn't stopped spinning......

On Vacation today, and am ever so grateful!  However, it is tempered with some sadness.  It is the 25th anniversary of the passing of Mike's Dad Wayne.  (11/19)  and will be the 3rd anniversary of the passing of Grandma A (11/20/2009).  You wouldn't think I would still be so emotional about it, but you learn to deal with it.  However,  the longing and loss never go away.

I feel her presence around me often.  Especially when I see the "late season" roses.  Just a week ago,  I came out of the office and was blessed to smell the scent of the roses in the rose garden outside our door.  My co-worker, Crane, was also lucky enough to get to smell that "heavenly" smell. It was amazing, and I'm sure she had a hand in all of that.

Today, my plate is full, and life goes on.  our struggles both up and down make us what we are.  As we aproach that "Thanksgiving" day, I am reminded how lucky I truly am!

Last week, was kind of a wild week...  Sister Bobbi fell down her stairs (taking the recycling down to the street)  and shattered her shoulder and elbow.  After the 'magic' of surgery, the MD's were able to put humpty-bobbi back together again.   She's now in re-hab and will be there for another week.
That coupled with sister-kelly getting in another car accident.  She was fine, but the car was in very bad shape.  The guy that hit her had insurance, so that is a good thing... but just another blip on the life-radar.
I managed to get through the week with my 2nd of 3 webinars devoted to billing issues.  The CMS-1500 billing basics went well, but I was hoping for a larger audience.  We went ahead and taped it, and I think it was GREAT...  we'll see how well it sells.  By Friday, I did my second coding day in Ontario/Fruitland.  It went really well there too.   They are wanting to keep me on full time.  (at least 1/2 day per week).  This coupled with the offer that I got from Jeff Garcia and their offer of being the educational consultant for his group.  It's a huge offer, so I am mulling it over.
I'm not Complaining and so grateful to be working today (with an NFL game in the background, and in my fav pair of denims)
1st up... abnormal OB delivery issues and complex case studies in maternity care,
 2nd.. ICD-10pcs and surgical robotic assist, ........
last but not least....   inpatient facility billing with emphasis on a UB04, and facility billing issues... So pray I have the 'muse' and the ability to pull it all off today! .. PS I LOVE MY EDITORS, but I really need to figure out how to space my projects more carefully...
Well --  Off to see what more projects I can whip into shape!

Labor Day 2012 (09 03 2012)

Today is Sept 3rd...  and the Labor Day Holiday...   We had a great BBQ last night with the Farner Family.  ...  We even had Ray Berryman stop by and see us too.  Sue goes in for her Knee replacement surgery on the 11th...

Last night Melba lost one of its "Biker Boys"...  Rick Phillips passed away..  May God let him travel the open road in peace.  Such a gentle man, with such a tough life....  At least he went quickly, but with those around him that loved him.   A life well lived!

My cousin, Kevin, suprised me with some pics of the family this a.m.   I put one up on my FB cover page of all the kids w/Gma Ferro and Gpa Ferro...  The "typical" italian  la familia!  It's amazing that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

... and Emily Farner has put the old "guilt" upon me again.  She sent home a box of green apples, so the first batch of applebutter is in the rice-cooker!  hmmmmm  I guess I shouldn't complain. it is always YUMMY!.   Now, if I can get some of the pears off of my tree,  apple-pear butter might just be wonderful too! ..

The first batch of apple butter turned out "wonderful"...  the second batch is going now.  I'm very tired, and have a zonging headache from the allergies... so I guess I will stop for now.  However, will go on the hunt for some aspirin for the headache, and maybe see about locating some "food"!    hahahah

So I guess fall really isn't too far away.... UGH!!!  Summer is still my favorite season!

The "September" of the Birthdays

September 2, 2012

As we begin the Month of September -  So many September Birthdays... I am so honored to share with so many wonderful people in my life!  (Mike, Alyson, Jil, Jamie Givens, Treva Dowling, Natalie Valdez, ...  and so many more)....

Today is a Sunday, of the Labor Day weekend Holiday.  Mike headed out to a fire call w/Kuna around 9:00 a.m., leaving me with my thoughts and how lucky I truly am.   I turned on the TV and my favorite movie Star Trek - NGen "Insurrection" was on.   I love starting my days off with a good Star Trek movie.  We have an invite to meet with the Farner Family this afternoon for a quick BBQ, then we'll take in the NASCAR race from Atlanta.

I need to get a couple of writing projects going, but am having a hard time motivating myself today.   I just turned on the "head-banger" music, and am hoping this will motivate the writing spirit.

Yesterday, I got my invoicing done for the job I did at WH - Ontario.  I think this will be a truly good thing for a temporary position -  I think we can get what we need to do done, within a couple of  months....  I would love to see them really get going "On their own" and be successful!

last Thursday, Codingcert.com offered me an opportunity to join forces with them as part of their "curriclum" oversight team.  It will be interesting to see what comes of that.  In addition, Lisa Eramo - contacted me for an article for Justcoding.com for the inpatient side of the world, and I am also committed to Michelle for an article to be coded for the outpatient physician side.
So very very grateful!

I am so ADD sometimes! -  Just put in some rice for the family BBQ...  "Brother" Rick-E loves the rice. and also a load of laundry...  Screwed off on FB, but had a quick conversation with my cousin Kevin.  He's in Ohio, but so great to connect with him.  He's really had a tough life, but so proud to know he's part of my "diverse" family.   He shares some of those "mis-fit" genes like I have.  however, I guess it works - we seem to be 2-peas of that same pod of crazy!

I can tell summer is winding down.... the flies are horrible, and so are my allergies...  the dust is permeating the inside and outside!  We need a good-hard rain, but it doesn't look like rain is in our near future forecast....

It's nearly noon, and I really should get my krap together...  I promise I'll write more soon....

A little "moses" faith

We just got back from vacation, and of course.... the $'s were tight, but we still had a great amount of fun with the friends and family. I came across this today, and it really drives home my faith. Sometimes I just need a little help remembering.

Hebrews 11:27a-By faith……

Because Moses fed over three million people every day, scholars estimate that he needed 1500 tons of food and 4000 tons of firewood every 24 hours. Keeping those folks watered and washed required about millions of gallons of water daily.

To get them across the Red Sea in one night, he had to form them into a line more than three miles long. That meant the ‘road’ they travelled on through the Sea had to be at least three miles wide.

Whew! How did he do it?

Hebrews 11:29a- By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land…

Moses did what he could and believed God for the rest.

What needs exist in your home right now? Does the electric, gas or water bill threaten your future? Are groceries a little scant this week? Does your salary not stretch like it used to? Have the children stopped going to church or the parents suddenly need care?

Daniel 11:32b-the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits [for God] (AMP)

What would happen if we applied ‘Moses’ faith to our own lives?

What if we asked God for provision and expected him to provide?

What if we recalled those times that God did just that?

What if we expected him to do it again…and he did…?

Just because….. that is what God does.

Prayer-Lord forgive us for not expecting your best, when you yearn to give it.

My lenten prayer...

Lord: Allow your healing hand to heal me. Touch my soul with Your compassion for others. Touch my heart with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch my mind with Your wisdom, that my mouth may always proclaim Your praise. Teach me to reach out to You in my need, and help me to lead others to You by my example. Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring me health in body and spirit that I may serve You with all my strength. Touch gently this life which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

.. GOOD NEWS... and more GOOD NEWS!

My life is always a series of "dramatic events" but I really try to keep the drama to a minimum. However... It really seems to have gotten "big" over the last few weeks.

I have GREAT news.. My Dr. said that she will begin to taper me off the insulin, and try to manage my diabetes with oral meds, and diet/exercise. So Pammie... The pole hotties may now have to have a new member soon! So far, the Dr. said my weight loss of 150 lbs is good, but my goal of losing another 100 is very sound, and so we are going to make that our goal over the next year. (again... slow but steady) ! I am still battling the pneumonia, kidney & bladder infections, that may take another couple of months before I really can say that I've gotten over the infection & fatigue. I guess if that is what it takes, then so be it. I just want to be ready to go to Long Beach in April for conference!

My sister, Kelly, just called me and Aunt Doris is doing better now too. After the initial mis-diagnosis of pneumonia for her, I guess they determined that she was in congestive heart falure. Once the Dr's figured it out, I guess they have gotten 30 lbs of fluid build-up off of her heart, and she is doing much better! From what Kelly said, they are going to keep the diuretics going, so maybe she'll be able to get more fluid off before they let her go home from the hospital. The down-side, is she may have to have a pace-maker. But... in the big picture, that is a small price to pay. Aunt Maggie & Jil, are with her now, so she's in good hands.

Sometimes - the veil between the here and now, and those that have passed is very thin. When Mike and I went to the IWMC valenetine's dinner we were given a red rose. I brought mine home, but didn't think it would "perk back up" after I had forgotten it in the truck. Mike brought it in, and I re-cut the stem and placed in some water. IT IS STILL BEAUTIFUL... I know that Grandma A is watching over me. I could see her and smell her scent every time I go by it. It makes me smile, and feel very warm & fuzzy knowing she is near-by. There have been a few occasions that I think I can see my mom... but it seems very fleeting... it's a feeling I am still unsure about. I would like to think that she is checking on me too... but I really get the feeling that she is with her sister Doris. Mom... if you're seeing this, and you can ... please try and let her know that you are there, and still care, even tho you're on the other side.

Of course.. Dad & Nick are taking the snowmobiles to Silver this weekend.. God, please put your hand of protection around those two old men! I love them, but boy, they know how to worry the beans outta us!

I still need to check in with Sister Bobbi - She was scheduled to go to Amman Jordan, but with the unrest in the mid-east I'm not sure if she's gonna be able to go...

This weekend... I have devoted to DAYTONA! (speed-week @ Daytona) Last night, Waltrip won the Truck Series.. I have the Nationwide race on now, and the 500 is tomorrow. Yes... NASCAR has enveloped my mind. Also, tomorrow after the 500 the Oscar's are on TV. Again, I am always reminded of our Oscar party with Grammie A... I so miss you, but have such wonderful memories. I know that you are with me always > LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

I think God's angels have been very busy this week! I am very blessed, and continue to pray for those that also need God's touch, and pray for my continued blessings to getting me healthy, happy, wealthy and WISE!
