It's amazing how fast these weeks can go by, (and without me posting a note to the blog)
Today (10/25/09) is the 29th anniversary for Mike and I. Yes... it has gone by waaaaayy too fast, but it is wonderful being married to your best friend! The other cool thing about today, is that my cousin Lindsay turns 30, We both get to celebrate the same day!
I have still been battling this sinus/cough thing, so was pretty wiped out all week. Mikey has been GREAT, he's let me rest most of the week. Thank goodness!!! it was very busy @ UPIW, as most of the work world has the virus/flu/ H1N1. I'm looking forward to seeing my Shoreline and Fed Way Friends this next week. I miss ya, Miss Rose!!! etc...
In addition, Mike's sisters Dawn & Beth, plus his Mom were here this weekend to celebrate the 48th anniversary for his Uncle Rohn and Aunt Darlene. I've been so tired, and worried that I'd pass it on to them, that I've stayed home, and done my best to get over this yuck! I really would have liked to see them, but I would feel awful if they got this virus from me! (however, I think I got it in Dallas, and it's just taken this long to get over)
I was reassured how good my friends and family truly are! My friend Kathy Saldana, her son is in the hospital with H1N1 and very ill, so I sent a note out to my FaceBook friends and family for prayers. It's amazing how wonderful people really are! We're still praying for a speedy recovery!
The FaceBook phenomenon is still in effect. I am so thrilled to have been in touch with friends, previous co-workers, and family that I'd lost touch with! It makes me smile to know that FB has made the world accessible and easier to stay "connected" with those we care about!
Joe, Heather & Roland are on their way to Las Vegas to spend a week on "vacation" with Heather's mom & dad. We're "doggie sitting" as Kaley is here with us for the week. Joe was worried about taking so much time off. I'm hoping he'll get to enjoy this time off. He has a stressful job, and I think really could use the "down-time".
Then, life sends you another "knock-around", as someone has broken in to the shop again, so Mike is up there boarding up the windows again! This gets sooooo old. I'm sure there are plenty of folks around here that would help someone out if they truly needed it.... but to destroy property for no reason, is really the pits.
Mother Nature has put on the splendor again today... the leaves on the trees are turning bright yellow and red and it is really AMAZINGLY pretty. but soon, those leaves will be all over the lawn & we'll have to rake them up!
With October slipping away so quickly, I guess I'll have to get my act together and start working on my Christmas list..... as Mike said... only 2 more paychecks and Christmas will be here! YIKES!!!! Now, I really will need to buy that lotto ticket!
Anyway, LIFE TRULY IS GOOD, and I have been very blessed, and am grateful for the friends and family in my life. Love to all!
