This has just been a loooooong week. I'm still coughing, snorting, snuffling, sneezing, and borking! This common cold, is just hanging on! (it doesn't feel very common!) but with the intense swine H1N1 flu that has been flying around, and the seasonal flu that is flying around too, I guess I am pretty lucky it's only a cold. I was thinking that I got this "yuk" from my plane ride back from Dallas. Mike thinks I picked it up here, as he didn't get it and he was breathing the same air in the plane as me. (He's always the voice of reason!)
I did get my flu shot yesterday, and Mike got his on Tuesday. So I guess we'll see how it goes. The H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine has been released by the CDC, but is on a limited release basis to those with "high risk" (Health care workers) and school age children. I'm not sure if I'll be one of the "lucky" ones to get vaccinated or not. I am certainly not opposed to getting it, just not sure if I'll be one of those who meet the qualifications. SARMC has made it mandatory that all employees get the "seasonal flu" vaccine. I also have to go find out the "proper way" to wash my hands on Tuesday, at the "hand washing seminar" ha ha ha ha ha ha In addition, I think we're all bathing in anti-bac lotion. SARMC also stated that if you have a "fever, stomach or gastro issues" that you are to stay home from work for 1 week. Not only is the public sick with the flu, but it's hitting all the heath care employees too... Aurora went home on Friday with a fever of 102 and the gastro issue!
We met Joe, Heather & Roland for dinner last nite @ the HongKong express in Kuna. Wowzers was it tasty! I'm not sure if I was starving and it tasted that good, or if it's due to the "cold"... is it "feed a cold, starve a fever" or is it "Feed a fever and starve a cold?" I'm never sure which way it goes, but I was definitely hungry, and Chinese food hit the spot!!
Today's weather was awesome, other than the wind. (Thanks Tom Friddle!) we zipped in to Sam's Club, and it was nearly 80 degrees in Nampa. I wore a sweater, and I was WAAAAAYYYY to hot. I should have dressed a bit lighter! I just didn't expect it to be so warm.
We took Mo and Chelbie with us to town. It was a really nice ride in and back. I am so truly blessed.
Well... so much for my exciting life. Off to start some laundry, and watch the NASCAR race from Charlotte!
Luvs....
